Summary

  • This modular e-learning course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) methodology aligned with the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. Students will develop competencies in applying the CRA conceptual framework, understanding and analyzing impact/risk cascades and systemic risks, being aware of the importance of stakeholder engagement and differential vulnerability, an overview to the complete CRA workflow from scoping to evaluation and deriving assessment strategies into Climate Risk Management (CRM) strategies.

How to use

  • Individual course modules can be integrated into existing climate change or risk management courses. Can be used before, during, or after related coursework, with core modules following a sequential structure while cross-cutting topics remain flexible. 
  • Faculty should familiarize themselves with the foundational concepts presented in the course and decide the specific modules that should be integrated into the course considering student’s knowledge pre-requisites.
