  •  A comprehensive handbook for exploring connections between colonialism, racism, and climate justice. Students develop critical understanding of why certain communities are disproportionately affected by climate change and gain competencies in analyzing systemic causes of environmental injustice.

How to use

  • Suitable for workshops or seminar series, requiring 3-4 hours per theme. Can be used as a primary resource for environmental justice courses or as supplementary material in climate change/sustainability courses. Suitable for both in-person and online delivery.
  • Facilitators should prepare appropriate materials (flipcharts for in-person, shared documents for online). Group size should be 6-20 participants for optimal discussion dynamics. Basic knowledge of climate change and environmental justice is an audience  prerequisite.

Teaching format tip

Workshop

Facilitate hands-on learning through active participation and collaborative problem-solving. Students should engage in practical skill development while working with peers on authentic challenges. Use workshops to combine individual learning with group dynamics and immediate application opportunities.
